Sažetak
Entrepreneurship has always been an engine for creativity and jobs in a market economy. Now, in a competitive global environment where many jobs and services will migrate to the lowest cost producers, the stimulation of entrepreneurship is vitally important. With the rise of the educational levels in countries such as India and China, an increasing array of manufacturing and service sector jobs in Western industrialized countries will be lost to those lower cost competitors. Many policymakers in the United States postulate that better education is the solution to job losses from offshore outsourcing. However, the increasing educational competence of the lower cost countries will require a broader policy response. The growth of entrepreneurship can provide the intellectual capital and quality employment needed. This paper will examine the role of entrepreneurship and the reasons for its increasing importance in a global, outsourcing environment.
