Sažetak
It has become commonplace to speak of 'crisis and transformation' as one phenomenon. It is a usage indicating a particular view of the world now widely shared. Yet crisis and transformation are simultaneous historical processes and may only be separated for analytical purposes. There is no chronological sequence: it is not as though the crisis that had begun in the 1970s first gave rise to new production systems, and next to the new social and economic configuration, domestic and global, that have transformed our way of life. Rather, global transformations were part and parcel of the crisis itself.
