Sažetak
Both the professional and entrepreneurial public has recently paid their growing attention to the rate of assistance granted to the Czech Republic by the European Union and mainly to the possibilities of its utilization in support of speeding up the restructuring and increasing the Czech economy competitiveness. The interest has been aroused by the entrance of new instruments of assistance – in addition to Phare having been utilized since the beginning the 90s, there is ISPA (investments in the area of the environment and transport), and SAPARD (support for agriculture and rural development). It is not quite clear, however, what this assistance means in terms of money and how to obtain it. The following paper that has been worked out by using background papers from the Center for Foreign Assistance at the Ministry of Finance is aimed at explanation of some issues.
