Sažetak

The economy of the Republic of Croatia is in a depression, characterized by the insufficient development of economy and economic relations, uncompleted privatization process, undeveloped production and business technology, small capital, lack of liquidity, lack of professional know-how etc. Croatia is a country with a small internal market and without a more significant participation in the world economic flows it cannot survive. Within the framework of the co-operative marketing concept, the Croatian economy is given the opportunity to overcome economic problems and the chance to find its place on the world market. The international co-operative marketing concept is aimed at the strategy of reciprocity and equality in the co-operation of participants from two or more national economies on an international level. Co-operation based on market orientation which is established between the participants of different national economies within the framework of the concept of international co-operative marketing enables their active participation in all the flows of the international marketing. The bi-directional circulation of goods and services, co-operatively aimed transfers (knowledge, technology, organization, financial resources etc.), and taking of a whole series of joint activities in production, innovation and marketing based thereupon should improve the participants’ international competitive ability, efficiency and profitability.
