Sažetak

IQM( integrated quality management), a relatively new trend in the European tourist destinations since the nineties of the past century , has proven efficient, especially in those already in the stagnation or even declining stage their life cycle. IQM embraces cooperation, partnership of all stakeholders in the destination, from the administration and tourist sector to the local residents, with the maximum environment and sustainable development concern. I addition to benchmarking and self-evaluation methods and processes, standards are useful and efficient tool for IQM implementation and its effectiveness evaluation. Only a few tourist companies in Croatia have brought in the ISO and other quality standards. The paper is describing and interpreting the results of the quality management research, which has been conducted in Croatian tourist destinations.
