Sažetak

FDIs play very important role in privatisation and transition process and help countries to face market requirements and challenges. Panel data analysis is used to find out factors that determine FDI inflows in CEE and WB countries. Results point out the main variables that impact on FDI for the CEE countries: GDP, sufficient infrastructure, wages, level of corruption, negotiations with EU ; and for WB countries: wages, level of corruption, agreement with EU, privatisation. It means that FDI in CEE are mainly market seeking, while FDI in WB countries are efficiency seeking. The process of association and negotiations with EU has direct positive impact on FDI inflows and also it indirectly influences on national economic and political sphere.
