Ever more often the role of human potential has been pointed out as a pledge of business success of any firm. Although there are a lot of problems facing the management in the Republic of Croatia, the stated fact emphasizes the need of stimulating efficiency of the existing human resource and potential without using significant additional financial expenses. The result of the research work of motivation in the Hotel Enterprise of "Rabac" PLC, Rabac have sown that the management has not perceived the significance of motivation function with the aim of achieving competitiveness. The reason for that is opposition has certainly pronged the achievement of needed tourist product quality and has hindered competitiveness on the discriminating tourist market.
