Sažetak
The term "franchising" implies an organizational form of business, or more precisely, of establishment and enlargement of business which includes direct and permanent association of independent business entities. One of them is a seller while the other(s) is a buyer.Franchising is of particular importance for the countries in transition, such as Croatia. It ensures a faster and easier internationalization of business and hence the access to information on trends at the markets in developed countries, including those on technological breakthroughs, development of new/improved products, innovative forms of financing and business networking. Moreover, technological level of business of domestic buyer usually improves due to significant franchisor's investments in technology. Franchisors, in tourism for example, make enormous investments in sophisticated technology in marketing, booking system and data processing.
