In the global environment of quick technical and technological changes which are essentially changing the conditions of life in which tourism develops, there are unstoppable processes leading to a dramatic increase in organized tourist travelling. The consequence is the expansion of subjects on the market in the tourist sector, all with the aim of increasing competitiveness and responding to the mass tourist demand. The main purpose of this paper is to show the role of the tour-operator on the leading emitting tourist markets in Europe. Such processes are becoming more evident in Croatia, as can be seen from the appearance of a new regional tourist leader – adriatica.net group. The paper analyses the business operations of the leading Croatian "on-line" tour operator as the leading group in the tourist sector of the region created by a merger of several agencies, tour operators, supermarket chains and other economic subjects in the region.
