The development of information and communication technology has contributed to the dynamisation of the process of globalisation during the last two decades of the 20th century. The stated process enabled the development and further convergence of the developed countries. Some developing countries, which have had the necessary prerequisites (liberalisation of foreign trade, favourable investment climate) have accelerated their development in such conditions. In the early 1990s, the Croatian economy entered the process of transition. Apart from transition, globalisation has been influencing the economic trends and structural changes of the Croatian economy. The authors analyse, in both quantitative and qualitative senses, the structural changes of economy, emphasizing the changes at the labour market that occurred in the conditions mentioned above.
