One of the most significant regulatory developments during the last two decades has been the transition from sectoral to integrated supervision. This is done by adopting the single supervisor model. However, the last financial crisis has questioned the effectiveness of this regulatory solution. As a result countries around the world are reconsidering their supervisory set ups. In Croatia this issue has been almost completely disregarded, which is surprising, since - as a future EU Member State - Croatia's regulatory arrangements will have to be completely aligned with European trends. And in a post crisis environment this means with macroprudential requirements and financial stability issues.
